We strive to empower dads to be more fully engaged in their families life, and to become an equal participant in their child’s journey to recovery. We believe it takes a village to raise a child, and that village must include dads.
Northwest Credible Messenger is a regional Capacity Building arm of the National Credible Messenger Mentoring Movement (CM3). Our goal is to build bridges of opportunity for our Black and Brown communities statewide through Capacity Building – Teaching the tools to build a seat at the table, Policy Advocacy – Building acumen for lasting transformative change,and Positive Youth Justice – Investing in the next generation of Black and Brown leadership.
Not so much a "how to", rather I draw from my lived experience of what I call my evolutionary journey of becoming who I am, finding myself in the culture and language of my own people, and then bringing that my work with Native peers. Providing culturally competent peer support services in tribal communities.
The Goal of the statewide FYSPRT is to voice and hear the concerns of all county's and communities and bring their pinpointed issues to the state.
Healing hearts is an origami project for the mind and body. When folding it takes focus, patience, and practice to reach the goal of a single sheet folded figure or multi-unit design. In recovery, focus, patience, and practice is also relevant.
Telling your story, sharing my story to recovery along with do's and don'ts of sharing yourstory as a peer; along with the cultural relation of storytelling in native American culture.This presentation brings together James' history as a native American, entertainer, anddual diagnosis recoveree into the spotlight with different views on storytelling and thevalue to be had from sharing your story.
